ATHENS — Former Tift County Blue Devil star and UGA player Israel Troupe has been arrested and charged with at least eight different felony counts.

The Athens Banner Herald reports that Troupe, 24, was booked in to the Athens-Clarke County jail. His charges include Financial Transaction Card Fraud and financial card theft. He remains in jail on a $32,500 bond.

While at Tift County, he was considered to be the top recruit among wide receivers but his career at Georgia fizzled. He was also pursued on the baseball diamond by several major league clubs before deciding to stick with football.
