Norcross' Diamond DeShields and Brandon Goodwin, along with Greater Atlanta Christian's Isaiah Wilkins, earned the top individual honors Tuesday night at the Gwinnett Tipoff Club's season-ending banquet to honor the best in local high school basketball.

DeShields was named the Gwinnett girls player of the year, while Goodwin and Wilkins shared the boys player of the year award.

The four state championship teams -- Norcross and Wesleyan girls, Norcross and GAC boys -- shared team of the year honors. The coaches of the year awards also went to those championship teams: Angie Hembree (Norcross girls), Jan Azar (Wesleyan girls), Jesse McMillan (Norcross boys) and Eddie Martin (GAC boys).

The other top individual award, the Joe Marelle Courage Award for players who overcome great adversity, went to Peachtree Ridge's Melissa Turvy and Mountain View's Ty McRae. Turvy plays with cystic fibrosis and McRae plays with deafness.
