O'REILLY: Progressive's tax-and-steal program

Bill O'Reilly

Bill O'Reilly

So my vacation plans to Cyprus have been canceled. Something about the government there seizing everybody's wallet because the country is bankrupt. Another nanny state bites the dust. When will they ever learn?

Never.

Here in the good old USA, there are 76 members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus -- folks such as Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, New York Rep. Charles Rangel, California Rep. Maxine Waters and Florida Rep. Alan Grayson. Sanders is the only honest one in the bunch. He comes right out and admits he's a socialist. He'll take all your stuff while telling you tales of Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys.

The CPC recently released their budget vision. They want a 49 percent income tax rate for the nation's highest earners -- half of the take. They also want to eliminate most deductions for the rich, and when they die, the progressives want 65 percent of what they leave to their families.

Sound reasonable? Sure, if you're Joseph Stalin.

Of course, the CPC wants to couple their onerous taxation with even more spending. To them, Barack Obama is Jack Benny. Look him up.

Yep, despite the nearly $17 trillion debt, the progressives want an additional $2.5 trillion for "job creation." That means giving tax money to folks they like. It doesn't matter what kind of jobs are created. If you have anything to do with fighting global warming, the progressives want to send you a check.

The CPC also wants an additional $2.2 trillion to spend on science and technology, the environment, income security (that's direct welfare payments), and, of course, that time-tested money pit "education."

I love the education deal. The U.S. now spends more money per student than any nation on Earth -- but it's not enough. It will never be enough. Kids can't learn without more money. Don't you know that?

Flashback: Eighth grade, 1963. St. Brigid's School, Westbury, N.Y. One nun against 60 working-class kids. Every kid could read, write, do fractions and diagram a sentence. Everybody knew what Congress was and how Kennedy beat Nixon. Nobody had any money. Sister Martin worked for free. I ate tuna sandwiches and apples. So did everybody else. Somehow the nuns educated even the dimmest kids. And I can attest to that, as I was beyond dim.

But back to the CPC.

They do want to cut one bit of federal spending: defense. They want to go back to the 2006 spending levels. Never mind that ardent Democrat and former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta says that would put the nation in peril. The CPC doesn't care. To them, members of the military are imperialists.

The truth is that the CPC doesn't like America. Capitalism is bad. Share the land. Take from the rich. Power to the people. Abbie Hoffman would have loved these folks.

But they are entrenched on Capitol Hill. Voters put them there. That's democracy for you. Pinheads can achieve power. And the rest of us suffer.

Just the fact that Charles Rangel is still alive and well in the Congress says it all. This is how low this country has fallen. And the Liberals love watching it all collapse since they are so jealous of working class folks who make it on their own.

That's really funny from someone that supports the party that wants bigger tax cuts for the wealthy, shifting the tax burden onto the "working class" and away from the "Leisure Class". While O'Reilly implies that the wealthy would pay 49% of their income (which miraculously began half of their income), he is misleading you. The actual budget lists this as a taxation of 49% only on income exceeding $1 Billion (that is with a B) http://grijalva.house.gov/uploads/Executive%20Summary%20FINAL.pdf. Consider also that people in these brackets have a significant part of their income as capital gain, which would only be taxed a maximum of 20% under this proposal, and in some cases lower. As for his claim for good education from one nun and 60 kids, he obviously is lacking in math ability. He also ignores the fact that motivation is the number one element of education. Some parents are able to motivate their children, for others it takes a teacher that has the time to get to know each student and use more personal methods to motivate that child. Most liberals are "Working Class". They are not jealous - just want the system to me more fair for all.

Kevin is so ignorant that he doesn't even realize that his way of thinking gives the "elite" enormous tax breaks at the expense of the real working class in this country.

The Democrats refuse any significant cuts to entitlement programs even though they understand full well that continuing these programs as they are will wreck our economy. The Democrats want to impose even more cuts to our defense budget. The Democrats do not plan to balance the budget - not in 10 years, not ever.

It is clear that the Democrats have neither a sense of fiscal responsibility nor of good of country. They want to continue to destroy our productive ability, weaken us militarily, raise taxes on all classes beyond all bearing, keep on using the money to buy votes and reward corrupt cronies and eventually spend the nation into oblivion.

In fact, just a few days ago Nancy Pelosi went on the record saying that the country does not have a spending problem but rather a problem of maldistribution of wealth. The Senate budget resolution makes it plain that the Democratic Party leadership agrees with her.

Surprise! Social Security does not add to the debt and the only part of medicare that adds to the debt is the drugs portion that was added by Bush to be a government supplement for drug companies. History shows us that Democrats have done a better job of balancing the budget than any Republican president for the last 50 years, possibly longer - didn't research further back. Most of the debt for which the right want to blame Obama is actually the interest on the debt run up under Reagan and the two Bushes and the residual cost of the Iraq war. You do remember the "weapons of mass destruction" lie and the "Sadam is working with the Al-Qaeda" lie. Even doctored CIA reports to convince Congress to give him the authority to use force if Sadam did not allow the inspectors inspect. The inspections were working, many weapons were destroyed. Inspectors were still working when Bush forced them out proclaiming that Sadam is not sufficiently cooperative and started a war, a very expensive war causing the deaths of more Americans based on his lies than died in the twin towers.

Large companies and those who have aquired great wealth are moving their earinings off shore out of this country. Take a look at GE for instance. they paid no taxes under the current system of taxation, but they followed tha current taxation laws and other companied have moved their wealth and jobs out of this country probably to never return again until we reform our tax laws and put a stop to so many give away programs. Both Democrats and Republicans and others are to blame. Until Congress follows the same laws that are imposed up us by them then do not look for things to change very much.

The blame-Bush-forever argument shows once and for all that the Democrats' Bush obsession has raced completely out of control. Liberals will blame anyone but Obama. No matter how stupid it makes them look. The trouble with liberals is just that they seem to have abandoned logic and reason. They are advocates of a policy that empowers a strong federal government to enslave its people with the high tax burden incident to the support of extravagant and unnecessary social programs destructive to both the work ethic among the lower class, and the incentive to innovate and succeed among the working people.

JV.....move away from FOX news every now and then. There is whole world out there and you might learn something.

Ah yes, the old Fox News hatred along with the blame Bush for everything. I should just watch MSNBC like liberals as it is sooo much more unbiased than Fox. How about the internet? Think folks can learn something there?

Many liberals (especially politicians and those who profit from politicians) do not want a conservative voice allowed anywhere. Many do not want dialogue and they do not want freedom of expression. They want one view and one side given to the public – the liberal view. Liberals fear the general public hearing what conservatives have to say because when people hear unbiased news and reasons why conservatives love capitalism and our constitution, people gain new understanding and often reject the agenda they were taught in government schools. Many will no longer buy into the “take wealth from the rich, give it to the government and Uncle Sam will take care of everyone” argument after hearing statistics and being presented with factual information.

Seems to me the real problem lies with the politicians of BOTH parties who are more concerned with their power (and thereby money) than show some actual leadership for those they purport to represent. But then, as long as you party cheerleaders are distracted arguing over who's right, they're free to continue their plunder of the American people unfettered.
