NORCROSS -- A new spa is set to open in the same Norcross building where four people were murdered last February.

Signs announcing the pending opening of the Gangnam Sauna drape the facade of 6005 Buford Highway, declaring the Korean spa is "coming soon." A person who answered a phone number listed for the 50,000-square-foot facility Friday said the spa is slated to begin seeing customers next week or the first week of April.

The news comes just over a year after tragedy took place inside the same building.

Norcross Police were summoned to what was then the Su Jung Health Sauna at about 8:40 p.m. on Feb. 21, 2012, responding to a person shot call. They would soon find out that 59-year-old Jeong Soo Paek had entered the spa and killed his two sisters and their husbands -- all four owners of the spa -- before turning the gun on himself.

About 20 patrons were present that day.

Records from the Gwinnett County tax assessor's office show ownership of the massive 1.98-acre property was transferred to Zion's First National Bank last May, before being taken over by FX and M Enterprises LLC. Once valued at more than $1.28 million in 2011, the property was appraised at just $850,000 in 2012.

According to the Gangnam Sauna website, the facility will offer clay, salt and ice saunas, hot and cold baths and other specialty rooms, as well as a full-service restaurant and salon.
