Braves a better choice than any reality television
Before much longer, decent evening television returns, thanks to baseball. Our Atlanta Braves seem to be putting another competitive team together.
It will take a while to get used to Chipper not playing on third base. Manager Fredi Gonzalez says he has a tough decision regarding the third base position. Both Juan Francisco and Chris Johnson are doing a fine job, especially hitting. Just an idea, how about playing both at third on rotation? That would leave one on the bench to pinch hit for Dan Uggla when we really need a hit. Dan has a great glove, but his bat has not been hot for a while now. Maybe this will inspire Uggla to improve his hitting as well.
Call it armchair coaching if you wish, but it sure beats reality television for me.

The recliner, a beverage and a book with the game on. And once in a while...the radio Braves, dog and a occasional cigar on the back portch at night with the crickets making noise. That is some peaceful summer multitasking, without a bunch of gadgets. And yes, if they don't get hurt, some substancial postseason play too would be good. We are due for some.

Been a long time since the Braves had back to back hitting (consistently) and guys that could pitch like Glavine, Maddox, Smoltz. I hope I am wrong, but I just don't see that in happening in 2013.
