Wesleyan's football team will have to find a new quarterback when spring practice rolls around in May after the departure of Will Anderson.

The two-year starting quarterback transferred from Wesleyan to Lassiter, according to head coach Franklin Pridgen.

"He did leave," Pridgen said. "Him and his family made a decision to leave."

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Anderson was one of the county's top passers the last two seasons. He threw for 2,264 yards and 21 touchdowns and 10 interceptions to help Wesleyan reach the Class AA state playoffs last year.

As a junior, he threw for 1,959 yards with 20 TDs and six interceptions.

Anderson holds Wesleyan school records in career passing yards (4,260), completions (341) and touchdowns in a game (6).

Anderson joins a Lassiter program that is known for its fast-paced, spread style offense. The Trojans are looking for a new QB after the departure of Eddie Printz, who signed with Missouri. The Trojans were ranked No. 1 in the state in Class AAAAAA at the end of the regular season, but were knocked out of the playoffs in the first round by Brookwood.
