PREP ROUNDUP: Lanier rallies in fifth to beat Duluth 4-3

SUGAR HILL -- Lanier rallied from a three-run deficit in the fifth inning to beat Duluth 4-3 on Thursday.

Matthew Ramsey had the tying RBI single in the fifth and Michael Wilson scored the go-ahead run on a double steal.

Taylor Grant, Marcus Millhouse, Michael Diaz and Trenton Little each had a hit for the Longhorns (9-2). Little threw a complete game, allowing seven hits, two earned runs and striking out two.

Junior Fernandez went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for the Wildcats (8-4).


Mill Creek 1, Gainesville 0

HOSCHTON -- Cody Pugh went the distance in a three-hit shutout as Mill Creek squeaked by Gainesville 1-0 on Thursday.

Logan Moseley had a hit and scored the lone run for the Hawks (6-5).

Parkview 15, Berkmar 0

LILBURN -- Defending state champion Parkview rolled to a 15-0 win over Berkmar (2-9, 0-2) on Thursday.

Josh Hart was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Sam McCoy (1-for-2, two RBIs), Micah Finley (2-for-2, RBI), Zach Langley (2-for-2, two RBIs), Rob Youngblood (1-for-2, RBI), Jake Hipple (1-for-1, two RBIs) and Jarrett Hood (two RBIs) all added to the Panther onslaught.

Mason Caskey went the distance, striking out four and yielding just three hits for Parkview (6-2, 3-0).

South 7, Archer 3

SNELLVILLE -- Ryan Patterson was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs in South Gwinnett's 7-3 win over Archer on Thursday.

Adrian Martinez was 2-for-2 with a pair of runs scored for the Comets (9-3, 3-0).

Chad Smith (3-1) got the win, striking out five while allowing two earned runs and four hits in five innings of work. Brandon Matics pitched two innings of scoreless relief with four strikeouts.

Lovett 4, Peachtree Ridge 3

SUWANEE -- Starter Craig Williams only gave up two earned runs and struck out four in five innings, but he and Peachtree Ridge lost to Lovett 4-3 on Thursday.

The Lions (6-6) were led offensively by Jonathan Hudson, who was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored. Drew Wharton and Jared Steadman each had an RBI.

George Walton 14, Wesleyan 4

NORCROSS -- Brandon Moss was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI in Wesleyan's 14-4 loss to George Walton Academy on Thursday.

Grant Colton was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Wolves (5-2).


Hebron 8, George Walton 0

LOGANVILLE -- Hebron had eight different players score goals in its 8-0 victory on Thursday.

The Lions (7-2-1, 3-0) got goals from Bailey Pinto, Cole Redman, Dan Ungerer, Johnny Hardin, Andrew Hutto, Toby Pop, Jarrett Lowery and Benji Dumanoswky.

Braden Elmer had two assists and Joey Redman got the shutout in goal.


Hebron 8, George Walton 0

MONROE -- Sarah Boyd and Bianca Clark had hat tricks as Hebron Christian crushed George Walton Academy 8-0 on Thursday.

Clark also added an assist, while Alex Probst had two goals and an assist. McKenzie Towe added two assists for the Lions (7-1-2).


Grayson 13, GAC 6

NORCROSS -- Goalkeeper Josh Parris made 18 saves to help lead Grayson to a 13-6 victory over Greater Atlanta Christian on Thursday.

Garrett Gorski and Hunter Dutton both had three goals and an assist for the Rams (6-3). Doug Bieber scored two goals and added an assist. Tommy Van Galder and Nate Peters both had a goal and an assist in the win.

Wesleyan 16, Gainesville 3

NORCROSS -- Matt Zimmerman scored nine goals and had one assist in Wesleyan's 16-3 win over Gainesville on Thursday.

Miles Laughlin added two goals and one assist, while Jake Miller had two goals and three assists for the Wolves (4-3).


Duluth 19, Norcross 11

DULUTH -- Ali Cole exploded for eight goals and five assists as Duluth raced past Norcross 19-11 on Thursday.

Noah Holt added four goals and an assist for the Wildcats (6-2-2), while goalkeeper Grace Carnazzo made nine saves in the win.

Grayson 18, North Forsyth 5

LOGANVILLE -- Led by an outstanding eight goals from Austyn Gorski, Grayson beat up on North Forsyth 18-5 on Thursday.

Lyndsay Parris, Charlotte Partrick and Ashley Mistretta each had two goals and two assists. Maddie LaCavera added a goal and two assists, while goalkeeper Taylor Denton made 11 saves for the Rams (5-3).

Archer 14, Mountain View 9

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Brittany Gary scored six goals and had four assists in Archer's 14-9 victory over Mountain View on Thursday.

Kamia Gaylen added three goals for the Tigers (6-2-1).

Mill Creek 17, Lambert 5

HOSCHTON -- Mill Creek kept rolling this season with a 17-5 drubbing of Lambert on Thursday.

The Hawks are now 9-1. Maddie Beck scored three goals and added four assists. Maddie Peek had four goals and an assist. Tori Windham scored three goals and had an assist, while Abigail Fitler added two goals.


Brookwood 5, Shiloh 0

SNELLVILLE -- Brookwood remained undefeated in Region 8-AAAAAA play on Thursday with a 5-0 victory over Shiloh.

The Broncos (12-2, 5-0) got victories from singles players David Brown, Will McWhirt and Ryan Pridgeon. The No. 1 doubles team of Zach Jennings and Daniel Drake won along with the No. 2 doubles team of Anthony Porcelli and Matt Bullock.

Central 5, Berkmar 0

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Elijah Clarke, Tony Nguyen and Timmy Hoang won at singles play to help Central Gwinnett to a 5-0 win over Berkmar on Thursday.

Tyler Nguyen and Bradley Truong won at No. 1 doubles and Aaron Manela and Ibrahim Jarra won at No. 2 doubles for the Black Knights (9-3, 4-3).

Peachtree Ridge 4, Collins Hill 1

SUWANEE -- Alex Makarenko and Kevin Lim won at No. 1 and No. 3 singles to help Peachtree Ridge to a 4-1 win over Collins Hill on Thursday.

Taylor Foote and Niki Makarenko won at No. 1 doubles and Alex Peed and Collin Greeff won at No. 2 doubles for the Lions (7-3, 5-1).

BUFORD -- Buford added another victory to its undefeated record on Thursday with a 5-0 win over North Hall.

The Wolves (14-0, 5-0) got wins from Colby West, Nicholas Becker and Skyler Wilson at singles play. Rob Hunter and Alex Turner won at No. 1 doubles and Avery Turner and David Petroni won at No. 2 doubles.

Walker 3, Wesleyan 2

NORCROSS -- Wesleyan dropped its record to 3-5 on the season after a 3-2 loss to Walker on Thursday.

Palmer Brasher won at No. 3 singles and Cameron Anderson and Michael Armstrong won at No. 2 doubles.

Mill Creek 4, North 1

HOSCHTON -- Mill Creek swept the singles matches and beat North Gwinnett 4-1 on Thursday.

Quentin Lavender (No. 1), Adam Gonterman (No. 2) and Brad Adkins (No. 3) were the singles winners. Travis Hanes and Colin Pendelton also earned a point at No. 1 doubles for the Hawks (11-2, 6-0).


Peachtree Ridge 4, Collins Hill 1

SUWANEE -- Peachtree Ridge remained undefeated in Region 7-AAAAAA play with a 4-1 victory over Collins Hill on Thursday.

The Lions (10-0, 6-0) got victories from Abby Owens and Jena Kelly at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Mary Francis Greenwood and Riley Guise were victorious at No. 1 doubles and Olivia Silva and Sreeja Choppara won at No. 2 doubles.

Jamie Lunceford won at No. 3 singles for Collins Hill (7-5, 2-2).

Central 3, Berkmar 2

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Central Gwinnett picked up a 3-2 victory over Berkmar on Thursday. The Black Knights (8-4, 4-3) got wins from Kathy Nguyen at No. 3 singles, Tanner Moore and Jennifer Morris at No. 1 doubles and Mia Smajic and Sabina Akaratovic at No. 2 doubles.

Gaby Chan and Kayla Aguilera won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, for Berkmar.

North Hall 3, Buford 2

BUFORD -- Buford tasted its first region loss of the season on Thursday with a 3-2 defeat to North Hall.

AnnaLea Stevens won at No. 1 singles and MariaJose Ferreyros won at No. 2 singles for the Wolves (12-2, 4-1).

Wesleyan 4, Walker 1

NORCROSS -- Sophia and Savannah Strickland won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles to help Wesleyan to a 4-1 victory over Walker on Thursday.

The Wolves (7-1) also got wins from Kaitlin English and Leila Jordan at No. 1 doubles and DeeDee Seaman and Katie Van Laeke at No. 2 doubles.

North 3, Mill Creek 2

HOSCHTON -- North Gwinnett edged Mill Creek 3-2 on Thursday.

Hannah Serdinia (No. 1) and Isabel Balsavage (No. 2) won at singles. The No. 1 doubles pair of Haley Wix and Emma Etelalahti earned the third point for the Bulldogs (10-2, 3-1).

Brookwood 5, Shiloh 0

SNELLVILLE -- Brookwood swept Shiloh 5-0 on Thursday.

No. 1 Gabbie Griffith and No. 2 Natalie Nabors were singles winners. The doubles were swept by No. 1s Rachael Amatriain and Maddy Stanitzke, and No. 2s Anna Gardner and Olivia Chong.


Broncos win on tiebreaker

SNELLVILLE -- Brookwood and Parkview tied with a score of 169, but the Broncos won a tiebreaker at Summit Chase.

Shawn Chong shot a 40 for the Broncos and Dominique Jacketta shot a 42.

Brandon Gibbs was Parkview's top golfer with a 40 and Aaron Desilva shot 42.

Norcross rolls past Duluth

BERKELEY LAKE -- Zach Healy shot a 36 to help Norcross to a 163-205 win over Duluth on Thursday. Sean Derossett led Duluth with a 45.

GAC edges Blessed trinity

ROSWELL -- Reagan Cink had a birdie and an eagle on the last two holes to lift Greater Atlanta Christian to a 156-158 win over Blessed Trinity on Thursday at Brookfield Country Club.

Steffan Smith shot a 39 and Jordan McDavid had a 40.

Providence loses match

MONROE -- Providence lost to George Walton Academy 177-245 on Thursday at Monroe Golf and Country Club.


Broncos edge Parkview

SNELLVILLE -- Caitlyn Cundiff shot a 49 to help Brookwood defeat Parkview 169-171 at Summit Chase on Thursday.

Elisa Groccia added a 55 for the Broncos. Jordan Moody shot a 55 for Parkview.

Norcross, Duluth tie

BERKLEY LAKE -- Norcross and Duluth tied with a score of 163 on Thursday.

Jordyn Sims led Duluth with a 48, while Camille Streeter had a 50 for Norcross.
