PREP ROUNDUP: Stahl strikes out eight to lead Storm to win

LILBURN -- Erich Stahl struck out eight batters to lift Providence to a 12-1 victory over Prince Avenue on Saturday.

Stahl allowed one run and three hits over five innings.

Matt James went 2-for-3 with a home run and six RBIs to lead the offense. Justin Brew went 3-for-3 with a double and two runs and Max Broom was 2-for-2 with two runs for the Storm (2-7, 2-1).


Peachtree Ridge 7, Chattahoochee 0

JOHNS CREEK -- Jonathan Hudson struck out six batters to get the win in Peachtree Ridge's 7-0 victory over Chattahoochee on Saturday.

Hudson (1-1) pitched 5 innings, allowing three hits. He was also 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI at the plate. Jordan Lee struck out two in 1 innings of relief.

Cameron Shepherd had a double and two RBIs, Cooper Burdick and Nick Neidert had RBI singles, Tyler Haswell had a double and two RBIs and Blake Best had a hit for the Lions (5-5).

Columbus 6, Mill Creek 0

HOSCHTON -- Chad Henderson, Daulton Smith and Logan Moseley each had hits in Mill Creek's 6-0 loss to Columbus on Saturday.

Jesse Thomas was the losing pitcher, going five innings and allowing three earned runs for the Hawks (5-4).

Theodore (Ala.) 6, Mountain View 2

AUBURN, Ala. -- Beau Blair hit a solo home run and Cameron Hankins had three hits, but it wasn't enough in Mountain View's 6-2 loss to Theodore (Ala.) on Saturday.

Garry Gwaltney was the losing pitcher, going 2 innings, allowing four hits, five runs, four walks and striking out three.


Norcross wins Viking Invitational

VALDOSTA -- Norcross defeated host Lowndes 4-1 in the finals to win the Viking Invitational on Saturday.

The Blue Devils (6-3) defeated Tift County 5-0 and Blekley County 4-1 to reach the finals.

Chris Williams, William Teoh and William Espinoza won at singles play and Joe Miller and Jeff McKendree won at No. 2 doubles.


North takes second at LaGrange tourney

LAGRANGE -- North Gwinnett second at the LaGrange tournament on Saturday. The Bulldogs defeated Wheeler 4-1, Columbus 5-0, Pace Academy 5-0 and lost to Blessed Trinity in the finals. North is now 9-2 on the season.


Norcross wins West Hall tourney

BRASELTON -- Norcross shot 301 as a team to win the West Hall Invitational on Saturday at Chateau Elan.

Jason Mendel shot 71 and Zach Healy and Clay Trocchio each shot 74. All three were named to the all-tournament team.

Shipp shoots 78 for GAC

ATLANTA -- Greater Atlanta Christian's Ben Shipp shot a 78 at the East Lake Invitational on Saturday to earn the second low medalist.


GAC wins East Lake tourney

ATLANTA -- Bailey Tardy shot an 81 to earn low medalist and led Greater Atlanta Christian to the championship at the East Lake Invitational on Saturday.

North's Yang low medalist at tourney

COLUMBUS -- North's Gwinnett's Christian Yang shot a 72 to earn low medalist honors at the Maple Ridge Invitational on Saturday. North finished in fourth place as a team.
