GRAYSON -- The annual Grayson Day Road Race is still weeks away, but organizers are asking participants to register in advance to get a discount for the event.
A one-mile fun-run and 5K, the event raises money for the Grayson High School cross country team. Fun Run participants get a T-shirt and 5K participants get a dri-fit shirt.
Start and finish is at Grayson Elementary, 460 Grayson Parkway, Grayson.
Packet pickup will be 5 to 8 p.m. April 26 at Grayson High School. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. April 27.
Those who register before March 31 get a $5 discount on either the one-mile fun run or the 5K.
Those who want to run can register at www.runnersfit.com or www.graysondayroadrace.com, or mail a check, c/o GHS XC Booster Club, P.O. Box 654, Grayson, GA 30017. Make checks payable to Grayson Cross Country Booster Club.
According to its website, for the past five years, the city of Grayson has been involved in the event. The rest of the day (April 27) is filled with family activities as well.
