Bike race to benefit local co-op

LOGANVILLE -- An upcoming bike ride will give participants the chance to help a pair of local nonprofits.

Graystone Church and Witness Through Fitness will host their fifth-annual "One Can Ride" event on April 21. Departing from Graystone Church in Loganville, the cycling event will offer both a 30-mile loop and a 62-mile metric century.

All proceeds of registration fees will benefit the Southeast Gwinnett Co-op -- which "serves families in need through ministry, provision, food and utility assistance -- and the Path Project -- formerly the Hope Center -- which helps at-risk children.

Registration prior to April 1 is $25 and includes a commemorative T-shirt. Those interested can sign-up the day of the race, but fees increase after April 1.

Riders are also encouraged to bring additional canned foods to the race -- for every five food items donated, they will be entered in a prize drawing.

To register, search "One Can Ride" on active.com.
