2 critical after Duluth motorcycle crash

DULUTH -- Two motorcycle riders were in critical condition Saturday after colliding with a pickup truck in Duluth.

According to Duluth police, a black Ford pickup truck towing a trailer exited the River Plantation subdivision onto Pleasant Hill Road just after noon Saturday. The driver then realizing he was headed in the wrong direction. The driver, who was not identified, "decided to make a U-turn," authorities said.

"As the pickup truck and trailer began to make a U-turn a black motorcycle carrying two people collided with the front left side of the pickup truck," Maj. Don Woodruff said.

Both passengers on the motorcycle -- also not identified Saturday -- were thrown from the vehicle. Emergency personnel transported them to Gwinnett Medical Center-Lawrenceville, where they were in critical condition.

No further details were immediately released.

This is why I don't want my husband to get a motorcycle. I completely trust him- it's the other idiots on the road I don't trust!
