PREP ROUNDUP: Pitching trio leads North to win

SUWANEE -- Three North Gwinnett pitchers combined to defeat Centennial 3-1 Saturday.

Stephen Hausser pitched 4 1/3 innings striking out five, Riley Space picked up the win with of an inning in relief and Jim Thompson pitched two innings to earn the save.

A two-run single by Ben Carswell broke a one all tie in the bottom of the fifth to lift the Bulldogs (4-4) to the win. Cody Short had two hits and a double for North.


South Gwinnett 10, Walnut Grove 0

SNELLVILLE -- South Gwinnett improved to 7-1 on the season with a 10-0, five-inning win over Walnut Grove on Saturday.

Ryan Patterson (3-0) pitched a complete game two-hitter, striking out six. Patterson also led at the plate with three hits and two RBIs. Zack Bogardts had two hits and four RBIs, Colton Nash had two hits and an RBI and Mason Hart scored three runs and swiped two bags for the Comets.

Lanier 6, Cedar Shoals 3

SUGAR HILL -- Lanier defeated Cedar Shoals 6-3 Saturday. Trenton Little picked up the win in relief for the Longhorns (4-2). Little pitched 2 innings striking out five Jaguars. Thomas Johnston had three hits and three RBIs while T.J. Richardson collected two hits for Lanier.

North Oconee 6, GAC 4

BOGART -- North Oconee defeated Greater Atlanta Christian 6-4 Saturday. Jackson O'Brien led the Spartans (3-2) with three hits and an RBI. Ross Wood added a triple and two RBIs for GAC.


Norcross 4, Berkmar 0

NORCROSS -- Norcross improved to 5-3 on the season with a 4-0 win over Berkmar on Saturday. Jordan Lewter had a pair of goals for the Blue Devils to lead the attack.

Jenna McEachern and Khalayha Bogle each scored while goalies Kennedy White and Sydney Hanna combined on the shutout for Norcross.


Berkmar 3, Norcross 1

NORCROSS -- Berkmar defeated Norcross 3-1 Saturday. Florentine Diaz scored the goal for the Blue Devils (3-4).

Brookwood 3, Walton 0

SNELLVILLE -- Brookwood blanked Walton 3-0 Saturday. Alan Barikos, Benaiah Shaw and Junior Ametepe scored for the Broncos (4-2).

Assists came from Jordan Locke, Mitch Hotop and Chris Costley. Nate Hopkins recorded the shutout for Brookwood.
