DULUTH -- If you're into working with fibers and textiles, there's a new exhibit for you.
From March 26 to May 25, the Hudgens Center for the Arts presents "Needles & Threads: Gwinnett Celebrates Traditional Fiber Arts," but the venue needs artists to fill the exhibit.
Entries for the new show will be accepted March 14-16 between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Duluth studio for all current Hudgens members. There is a $15 entry fee for each piece, and each artist is allowed up to three entries.
Those who are not members can purchase membership for $40 when delivering the works.
The mediums accepted are needlepoint, quilting, crewel, knitting, crocheting, petit point, macrame, embroidery, cross stitch, weaving, rug hooking, felting, lace making, flocking and more.
"Needles & Threads" is a juried show with prizes. A "Best in Show" award of $100 and three "Honorable Mention" awards of $50 each will be selected by the jurors. Plus there will be a reception for the artists on March 28 from 7 to 9 p.m.
For more information about submitting works and the entry form, visit www.thehudgens.org.
