PREP ROUNDUP: Norcross holds on to beat Dacula

NORCROSS -- Trevor Crayport pitched four innings and struck out four as Norcross held on to beat Dacula 11-10 on Wednesday.

Jess Ramsey went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored, while Joseph Wilber was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Devin Geraghty was also 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored and Andrew Lightle had a double and three RBIs.

Jackson Williams picked up the save in one inning of relief.

For Dacula (3-3), Josh Bullock was 3-for-5 with one RBI, while Austin Collins also had three hits, including a double. Tyler Crumley was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Brandon Ake and Matt Nigh also had two RBIs apiece.

BASEBALL

Grayson 17, Central 3

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Grayson (4-2, 1-0) had no problem beating Central, winning 17-3 in five innings on Wednesday.

Korey Anderson was the star of the day, pitching five innings and striking out five. He also went 3-for-3 at the plate with one home run and five RBIs.

Austin Meadows was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs, while Jeril Dawson had a double and two runs scored.

Lanier 9, Habersham Central 4

SUGAR HILL -- Lanier moved to 2-2 on the year with a 9-4 win over Habersham Central on Wednesday.

Trenton Little picked up the win in relief, going four innings, giving up one hit and striking out three. He also had two hits and scored two runs.

T.J. Richardson, Marcus Millhouse and Taylor Grant also contributed two hits and one RBI apiece.

BOYS SOCCER

Wesleyan 2, Hebron 1

DACULA -- Wesleyan moved to 2-3 on the year with a 2-1 win over Hebron on Wednesday.

Cort Coxhead and Matt Moratti each scored for the Wolves, while Zac MacKenzie had an assist.

Carter Flachbarth had eight saves in goal.

GIRLS SOCCER

Hebron 3, Wesleyan 1

DACULA -- Hebron moved to 3-1-1 on the year with a 3-1 win at home against Wesleyan on Wednesday.

Sarah Boyd, Alex Probst and McKenzie Towe each had a goal, while Bianca Clark had two assists.

Lexi Kent picked up the win in goal, making 18 saves.

Regan Lochmandy scored the Wolves' only goal, while Maddie Hall had the assist.

Mill Creek 5, Woodstock 0

WOODSTOCK -- Mill Creek moved to 4-1 on the year with a 5-0 win over Woodstock on Wednesday.

McKenzie Rice had two goals, while Lauren Tanner, Shelby Murphy and Ellie Bowes each had one goal.

Mountain View 6, East Hall 0

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Mountain View moved to 3-2 on the year with a 6-0 win against East Hall on Wednesday.

Ashley Lewis and Aleah Hathcock each had two goals, while Samantha Moore and Nadia Aghaie contributed one goal each.

BOYS LACROSSE

Wesleyan 7, South Forsyth 4

NORCROSS -- Wesleyan moved to 2-2 on the year with a 7-4 win over South Forsyth on Wednesday.

Matt Zimmerman led the way with three goals and one assists, while Blake Center had two goals, and Miles Laughlin and Walton Parrish had one goal apiece.

Mill Creek 8, Duluth 4

Mill Creek moved to 7-1 on the year with an 8-4 win over Duluth on Wednesday.

The Hawks got three goals and one assist from Nick Kozlowski, while Zach Roper had two goals. Andrew Eubanks also contributed three assists, and the trio of Will Peek, Sam Kibildis and Reed Stanton each had one goal.

Duluth (1-3) had two goals from Aaron Hind, while Sky Tabor had 17 saves in goal.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Collins Hill 18, Duluth 13

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Collins Hill won a shootout with Duluth in girls' lacrosse action on Wednesday, winning 18-13.

The Eagles were led by Abby Squires with four goals and two assists, while the duo of Anna Britt and Emily Napierala each had four goals and one assist.

Alyssa Quinones added three goals, while Callie Star, Rachel Goehringer and Emma Gilbert each had a goal.

Duluth (2-2-2) was led by Ali Cole with nine goals, while Jessica Seone had one goal and one assist.

Lambert 13, Brookwood 4

SNELLVILLE -- Brookwood dropped to 0-4 on the year with a 13-4 loss against Lambert on Wednesday.

Haley Curtin had two goals and one assist, while Lauren Clay and Taylor Stercay each had a goal. Linsey Thompson led the way on defense with six ground balls.

BOYS TENNIS

Peachtree Ridge 4, North 1

SUWANEE -- Peachtree Ridge moved to 3-2 on the year and 1-0 in the region with a 4-1 win over North on Wednesday.

The Lions got wins from Alex Makarenko at No. 1 singles, Jashitith Thoppara at No. 2 singles and Kevin Lim at No. 3 singles. The No. 1 doubles team of Alex Peed and Taylor Foote also won.

The No. 2 doubles team of Carson Sothard and Harrison Pruett picked up North's only win.

Wesleyan 5, Providence 0

NORCROSS -- Wesleyan moved to 2-3 on the year with a 5-0 win against Providence on Wednesday.

Picking up wins for the Wolves were Jeffrey Chang, Austin Zakas and Cole Brown at all three singles' positions. Also picking up wins were the No. 1 doubles' team of Tucker Cannon and Andrew Dorman, and the No. 2 doubles team of Michael Armstrong and Palmer Brasher.

GIRLS TENNIS

Peachtree Ridge 4, North 1

DULUTH -- Peachtree Ridge moved to 5-0 on the year and 1-0 in the region with a 4-1 win over North at the Sugarloaf Country Club on Wednesday.

Picking up wins for the Lions were Abby Owens at No. 1 singles, Jena Kelly at No. 2 singles and Ali Mills at No. 3 singles. The No. 2 doubles team of Olivia Silva and Sreeja Thoppara also won.

Wesleyan 3, Providence 2

NORCROSS -- Wesleyan moved to 4-1 on the year with a 3-2 win against Providence on Wednesday.

Picking up wins for the Wolves were Savannah Strickland at No. 2 singles, the No. 1 doubles' team of Kaitlin English and Leila Jordan, and the No. 2 doubles team of Katie McLaughlin and Katie Van Laeke.

Vani Christ and Mary Ellen Brannon each picked up wins for Providence.

Mountain View 3, Winder-Barrow 2

WINDER -- Mountain View moved to 3-2 on the year with a 3-2 win at Winder-Barrow on Wednesday.

Picking up wins for the Bears were Courtney Conley at No. 1 singles, Jennifer Pham at No. 2 singles, and the No. 2 doubles team of Allison Pham and Rose Moody.
