DULUTH -- In recent years, the public has been supportive of products "Made in America." What about the items made in Georgia?
On June 8, the Georgia Manufacturing Expo will be held at the Gwinnett Center to display products made in the state.
"The purpose of the expo is to celebrate manufacturing in Georgia," said Jason Moss, an organizer of the expo and founder of NetworkingMFG, a support group for small manufacturers.
At the event, local companies will give out free samples of their wares. Some of the Georgia consumer brands that will be present are Duracell, Anita's Balm, Frito-Lay, Club Car, LLC, Apex Designs, Minuteman Press Duluth and more.
"Most consumers, when given a choice, will buy locally manufactured good in order to support job growth in their communities," Moss said. "Companies that manufacture commercials and consumer products in Georgia will be featured at the expo and many will be giving away free samples of their products."
Hiring managers will not be at the event but resume drop boxes will be available in the booths of companies who have current job openings.
Each family that attends receives a free directory of Georgia products to help them with purchasing locally.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The admission is free if you pre-register online at www.georgiamanufacturingexpo.com. Tickets are $10 at the door.
