LAWRENCEVILLE -- A firearms safety seminar will be put on by Gwinnett County Police officers next month.
The event will be at 7 p.m. on April 4 at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center at 75 Langley Dr. in Lawrenceville.
Personnel from the Gwinnett Police Academy will address several topics including Georgia's carry and deadly force laws, how to obtain a carry permit, personal defense and types of weapons, Cpl. Jake Smith said.
The event is open to the public, but seating is limited. To register, email gunsafety@gwinnettcounty.com.
Smith said firearms are not allowed at the event and attendees will have to pass a security checkpoint.
