Annandale awarded another 5-star rating

SUWANEE -- Another five-star ranking has been awarded to Annandale Village's D. Scott Hudgens Center for Skilled Nursing.

The magazine U.S. News and World Report recently listed the Suwanee facility among its annual report of "Best Nursing Homes," and in the top 1 percent of more than 16,000 nursing homes in the country. The center also ranked No. 1 of all nursing homes in Georgia.

Keith Fenton, chief development officer at Annandale, said the center is the only such facility in Georgia dedicated solely to care for aging adults with developmental disabilities. Those served at the center have a primary diagnosis of autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome or have experienced a traumatic brain injury.

"It is, once again, an outstanding achievement for Annandale Village to receive top honors, assuring that our residents are receiving the highest level of care," said Adam Pomeranz, chief executive officer of Annandale Village. "The five-star rating speaks not only to the quality of clinical care we provide, but to the compassion and commitment of our dedicated staff in serving adults with developmental disabilities."

Annandale has also begun a renovation to expand the center and effectively double the number of individuals it serves, Pomeranz said. He added that the additional beds are expected to be open at the beginning of summer.
