LAWRENCEVILLE -- A house fire that temporarily shut down Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road on Saturday morning left no one injured, but three adults displaced from the home. One dog died in the fire, but another survived.
Gwinnett Fire Lt. Colin Rhoden said the fire was in the 1900 block of Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road and firefighters were dispatched at 10:05 a.m. The blaze was under control by 10:31 a.m.
The cause of the fire was unknown and under investigation, Rhoden said.
Gwinnett Police shut down Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road to all southeast traffic as fire crews arrived at the scene.
The fire was mostly on the back of the house and in a carport area on the left side in a crawl space.
"There was heavy fire damage to the house where the carport was totally destroyed," Rhoden said. "And heavy fire damage to the back porch and dining room."
