DULUTH -- Wanted: Local art lovers.
The city is looking for residents who can promote performing arts, maintain Duluth's existing art collection and commission new public works.
Recently approved by the city council, the new Duluth Public Arts Commission's vision is to "preserve the city's heritage, enhance its character and identify, contribute to economic development and tourism, add beauty and interest to public spaces and architecture and increase opportunities for the public to experience and participate in the arts."
Nine regular members and two ex-officio members (chosen from city staff) will serve.
Deadline to apply for the Duluth Public Arts Commission is July 15. Applications should be completed and turned in to the city manager's office.
