DULUTH -- For the second year in a row, the Hudgens Center for the Arts is looking for artists to be a part of its members-only juried exhibit.
The offer is open to all members of the Hudgens (18 years and older). For those who aren't a part of the Hudgens, but would like to be a part of the exhibit can purchase a membership to join. Membership is $30 for students and $40 for individuals.
Entries will be accepted through Aug. 1 in any of the following mediums: drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, ceramics, glass, photography, fiber art and sculpture. The entry fees are $20 for up to two pieces.
Artwork cannot exceed 48-inches in any direction and cannot weigh over 75 pounds. Artwork must have been completed within the past two years.
Prizes at the exhibit include a "Best in Show" award of $100 and three honorable mention awards of $50 each to be selected by juror Linda Armstrong, who is the Chair of the Visual Arts Department at Emory University and a sculptor that uses a variety of mediums.
According to the entry form, sales of exhibited works is encouraged. The Hudgens takes a commission of 30 percent. Each work must include a value for insurance purposes, even if it is not for sale. Please indicate clearly if your piece is not for sale.
The exhibit will be displayed from Sept. 24 to Dec. 28.
