Open since: May 6, 2011

Owner: Meily Phaiboun

Location: Golden Seven is located in the shops of Suwanee Town Center, in between Planet Smoothie and Gimme Some Suga.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays, noon to 11 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 10 p.m. Sundays

Atmosphere: The inside of Golden Seven is filled with vibrant yellows, golds and reds. There are 12 tables in the restaurant and six chairs lined up at the dark wood bar.

The walls are decorated with silver and gold elephant tapestry and small fish adorned in pieces of mirror. The three side windows facing a brick alleyway are draped with sheer red curtains embroidered with flowers.

In the back of the dining room, a golden lucky kitty waves to the customers as they eat their meals.

Besides offering dine-in options, Golden Seven has a to-go menu and delivery available. It can also cater for large parties, such as weddings, birthdays and corporate events.

There are daily lunch-time special, where the portions and prices are lower for a few hours.

For those on a budget but want a date night, the restaurant has a limited-time special: two people can eat a three-course meal for $20 dollars.

The bar is located to the left side of the room, serving international beers, wines and sakes (rice wines).

Menu: This spot serves Chinese and Thai food because the owner Meily Phaiboun is Chinese, but born in Laos -- which is next to Thailand.

So, no matter your mood, there is something for everyone, even children, vegetarians and people on a diet. If you're counting calories, there are grilled meats served with steamed vegetables and steamed rice or brown rice, plus a sauce.

Children have a choice between sweet and sour chicken, chicken nuggets or popcorn shrimp with french fries or fried rice.

A top seller is the bubble tea smoothie. Patrons order the drink in several flavors, like honeydew, mango, coffee, avocado and red bean -- and it comes with an extra treat inside. At the bottom of the glass, there are tapioca pearls that pop when you sip them up the straw, hence the sensation of a bubble.

If you have a sweet tooth, Golden Seven serves sweet Thai tea (super-sweetened, black tea with milk), sticky rice with coconut milk, banana spring rolls, sugar doughnuts and a mocha cake.

Thing you might not know: Golden Seven's first location is at 2148 Duluth Highway, Suite 117, in Duluth.
