Gwinnett Daily Post
This weekend, music is in the air -- and it's all for free.
Continuing its tradition, Lawrenceville Tourism and Trade Association is hosting its Moonlight and Music Concert Series today with Abbey Road LIVE! (a Beatles tribute band) taking stage.
The free series begins at 8 p.m. on the lawn of the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and picnics for a night under the stars.
Although the series is free, there are reserved tables available for six that can be rented beginning at $65 by contacting the Lawrenceville Visitors Center at 678-226-2639. The lawn and table seating are available starting at 6 p.m.
The Courthouse is located at 185 W. Crogan St. in Lawrenceville. For more information, visit www.visitlawrenceville.com.
Norcross is playing a different tune on Saturday. The city is hosting Jazz in the Alley with Eric Thomas, saxophonist and jazz musician, and his band Elevate the Quest.
Nicole "The Voyce" Sweeney, the host of 91.9FM WCLK's Midday Jazz Swing show, will be on hand to emcee the concert. Seating for the concert will be at a first-come, first-served basis and audience members are encouraged to bring their own chairs to Skin Alley.
The concert is 7 to 9 p.m. at Skin Alley, which is between South Peachtree and College streets in Norcross. For more information, visit www.aplacetoimagine.com.
