Shirley Carson Sims, age 77, of Snellville, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 22, 2013. She is survived her loving husband of 61 years, James T. Sims; three sons & daughters-in-law, James A. & Lynda Sims of Lawrenceville, GA, Jeff H. & Sue Sims of Cumming, GA, and David L. & Dana Sims of Winder, GA; 6 grandchildren, Trish, Brandon, Toni-Marie, Chris, Matthew & Bradley; 7 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie Holmes of Oxford, AL; nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Mrs. Sims was born on December 19, 1935 in Lanett, Alabama. She graduated from Lanett High School and married her beloved husband, James, on April 2, 1952.
Mrs. Sims was a devoted member of Loganville First United Methodist Church, enjoyed working in her flower garden, and collecting antiques. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. This southern lady will be deeply missed by her adoring family. A Service Honoring the Life of Shirley Carson Sims will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.
