Samaritan Health Center expands hours

LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Good Samaritan Health Center is reaching out, even more, to uninsured, working people in Gwinnett.

The center has added hours and will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. two Thursdays each month to provide greater healthcare access. Nearly 11 percent of people in Gwinnett are living below the poverty level, and 26.5 percent of the working population is without health insurance, according to center officials.

"Although women and children of all ages will benefit from the proposed expansion of hours, we expect a larger percentage of new patients who enter the center through this project to be men," executive director Greg Lang said.
