ATLANTA -- "Good Eats" fans, it's time to rejoice -- Alton Brown is hitting the road on his "Alton Brown Live! The Edible Inevitable Tour," which stops by the Fox Theatre at 8 p.m. Feb. 28.
"I've been cultivating material for this show for about a decade so it'll feel pretty darned good to finally get it out of my head and onto a stage," Brown said."I feel we've come up with some pretty amazing food demos and the multi-media segments are solid ... but I do have to say I'm a bit nervous about the singing parts."
The show boasts stand-up comedy, a multi-media lecture, live music and -- of course -- food experimentation. The culinary scientific performance also includes audience participation. Yes, the public will be asked to hop on stage as Brown's "trusted assistants" during several segments.
For those in the front few rows, ponchos will be given out because things may get messy on stage.
Since 1999, Brown has been a household figure with his show "Good Eats" on the Food Network. He also hosted "Feasting on Asphalt," "Feasting on Waves" and "Next Iron Chef." Brown is currently the culinary commentator of "Iron Chef America" and works as a mentor on "Food Network Star."
Brown took home the Peabody Award for broadcast excellence in 2007 and the James Beard Award for top food show host in 2011. Over the years, he has written seven books with the last three making the New York Times Best Sellers List.
