DACULA -- A Dacula teenager suffered life-threatening injuries after he and his bike collided with a car late Tuesday night.

Gwinnett County police said 13-year-old Elijah Ethridge was riding his bike at about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday when he "disregarded the stop sign" at the intersection of Track Way and Greeson Road, crashing into a Chevrolet Cobalt driving north on the latter.

The teen "was not wearing a helmet and was ejected from his bicycle," according to an incident report. Ehtridge -- who lives just four houses down from the intersection -- was flown to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston with "possibly life-threatening injuries."

No other details were immediately available Wednesday.

The driver of the vehicle, a 34-year-old Loganville woman, is not believed to be at fault in the crash. No charges have been filed.
