Car rolls into Grayson home after child shifts gears

GRAYSON -- Someone is so grounded.

A pickup truck slammed into a Grayson home around noon on Wednesday, causing significant damage to the brick structure on the 2500 block of Brocklin Drive. Gwinnett County fire department spokesman Lt. Colin Rhoden said the incident was the result of one child's accident.

"Apparently a child in the car put it in gear and it rolled down the hill" and across the street, Rhoden said.

The home was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported. The child was also unharmed.

"It seems that there was a slow roll and the child rode the car to the house," Rhoden said. "He was checked at the scene and didn't have any injuries."

The truck was removed from the home before emergency personnel returned to service.
