The Norcross athletic program will receive the 2013 Star of the Year Award during Saturday's Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.
The Blue Devils earned the honor by becoming the first Georgia High School Association school to win football, boys basketball and girls basketball state titles in the same academic year. They also won a boys golf state championship in the spring.
The 2013 Hall of Fame inductees are longtime prep basketball coach Ron Bradley, whose career included a stop at Greater Atlanta Christian, 1984 Olympic gold medalist swimmer Steve Lundquist, former Atlanta Crackers president, general manager and owner Earl Mann, former Georgia Tech athletic director Homer Rice, and former Atlanta Falcon and Atlanta Brave Deion Sanders. In addition, Tech associate athletic director Wayne Hogan will get this year's Community Service Award.
Tickets are still available for the event, which begins with a 6 p.m. reception followed by the 7 p.m. awards and induction. For more information, go to www.atlantasportshalloffame.org.
