Dacula residents Dylan Pence and Alex Markham each won age group titles in recent Hurricane Junior Golf Tour events.
Pence won the boys 15- to 18-year-old division at the Nike Cup Series Event No. 4, held at Heron Bay Golf and Country Club. He shot 73 and 73 to tie for first, then won a two-hole playoff for the championship.
Fellow Dacula resident Chandler Avery tied for third in that division with rounds of 73 and 74, while Dacula's Trey Pearson tied for ninth (75-75). In boys 11-14, Markham was sixth (75-73), Buford's Jordan Rodriguez was ninth (78-73) and Buford's Seth McAfee was 10th (80-74).
In girls play, Lawrenceville's Jenny Bae (76-80) was third in the 11-14 division and Buford's Grace Choi (87-87) was fifth. Dacula's Kiersten Nowell (79-82) was third in 15-18 play and Winder's Savannah Rainbolt (92-85) was sixth.
Markham also won the HJGT's recent Greenwood (S.C.) Junior Challenge with rounds of 79 and 73 in the boys 11-14 division. In that tourney, Dacula's Annika Blanton (77-89) was fourth in girls 11-14 competition.
