Suwanee to hold public hearing about budget

SUWANEE -- A public hearing is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday about the city's proposed budget for next year.

It's the first of two public hearings about the $12,164,990 million proposed budget. The next hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. June 25. Thursday's public hearing is also set to include the 2014-18 Capital Improvement Program.

Both items are scheduled to be on the June 25 City Council agenda.

Last year, Suwanee officials adopted a $12,002,440 budget for fiscal year 2013, which was a 1.3 percent increase from the 2011 budget, and a 1 percent decrease in total revenues compared to 2012.

Nash has already said the millegae rate will increase. I thought she wold prevent this from happening. Inflation and the Obama "recovery" should have put more tax money in their coffers to spend. No excuse for an increase unless some poor management has hit this year.
