LETTERS: Attention diverted, freedom erodes

Regarding recent revelations of massive phone and Internet monitoring by the National Security Agency -- our attention is misdirected.

Americans might not be under this level of scrutiny if we weren't so politically correct when it comes to profiling and if we had an immigration and border security policy that was actually designed to protect our country, its citizens and the ideals on which this country was founded.

How can there be so much money and time spent on the surveillance of Americans, yet a secure border and a rational immigration policy is unattainable?

The gooberment "must" have all this surveillance because the gooberment has encouraged millions to come to our country who's basic ideology is inimical to our country's ideals. Anyone that doesn't think this is part of a larger plan is just plain stu-pid.

Since when do we keep folks in Congress that do NOT uphold the laws of this country? That is the start of the "end." The folks are simply letting politicians get away with murder and they look the other way. No wonder these crooks in Washington do what ever they please. People have become way too stupid.

Divide and conquer. It worked for Hitler and it is working for Obama.
