Iva Irene Johnson age 90 of New Hope Rd., Lawrenceville, GA passed away on June 8, 2013. She died peacefully and with dignity. She was born on August 24, 1922, to the late Lewis and Bertha Bradberry. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.H. Johnson; great-granddaughter, Ella Moore; her siblings J.D., Bessie Jack, Robert and James Bradberry. Iva is survived by her children Mike and Mary Ann Johnson, Kathy and Kenneth Wells and Debbie Holland; grandchildren Chad Carlyle, Elizabeth and Clint Reid, Kelley Wells, Tray and Sarah Lockridge, Claire Johnson and her fiance; James McGuire; great grandchildren Alexis, Madelyn and Sophie Reid, Hannah Oldroyd and Ava Moore. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her beloved dog Smokey also survive.
Iva was a 1939 graduate of Lawrenceville High School. She worked at the Gwinnett County Courthouse, Genesco, Sears Roebuck and Co., Williams Drug Store and Gwinnett Answering Service. Most importantly, she was a Mother and homemaker. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Advantage and her caregiver, Patricia Edwards for their care and support. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 2PM at Tom M. Wages Funeral Services Lawrenceville Chapel with Rev. Michael Soop & Rev. Carl Leach, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 10, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the funeral home.
