EVANSTON, ILL. -- National Merit Scholarship Corp., recently announced about 2,500 winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by U.S. colleges and universities
Officials of each sponsor college selected their scholarship winners from among the finalists in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their institution. Awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.

Seven local students are Leaders and Achievers award recipients
ATLANTA -- The Comcast Foundation, founded in 1999 to provide charitable support to its local communities and empower and enrich lives, has announced six Gwinnett County recipients of its annual leaders and Achievers 2013 Scholarship Program.
The program provides one-time $1,000 scholarships to students who strive to achieve their potential, who are catalysts for positive change in their communities, who are involved in their schools and serve as models for fellow students.
