LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Gwinnett County Police Department has announced the dates of its next citizens police academy.
The 25th installment of the academy -- its goal to "create and develop a growing nucleus of responsible, well-informed citizens who have the potential to influence public opinion concerning police practices and service delivery" -- will be held from Aug. 27 to Oct. 24. As usual, topics covered will include animal control, crime scene investigation, firearms, gangs, vehicle pullovers and K9.
Any resident interested in participating can obtain an application from the Gwinnett County Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Association website at www.gwinnettcpa.com.
Applications must be received no later than June 28 to be considered for the upcoming session, and can be submitted via email (to firstname.lastname@example.org), fax (770-513-5531) or mail (P.O. Box 602, Lawrenceville, GA, 30046). Applications received after the June 28 deadline will be considered for later sessions. Questions can be submitted to email@example.com.
