CONYERS -- Two Jonesboro women are being held in the Rockdale County Jail on charges that they pimped a 14-year-old Atlanta girl for money at two local motels.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, warrants were taken for the women after the GBI was notified of the allegations by the Conyers Police Department.
"They basically had a 14-year-old with them and they were making arrangements for the 14-year-old to have sex with men for money," said GBI spokeswoman Sherry Lang.
Arrested were Jadaisha Xavia Shakelle Jackson, 19, and Essence Ivana Samone Archie, 18, both of 7983 Woods Lane, Jonesboro. Jackson has been charged with one count of trafficking of a person for sexual servitude; Archie faces one count of trafficking of persons for sexual servitude, two counts of pimping a person under 18 years of age, two counts of aggravated child molestation, and one count of trafficking of persons for labor or sexual servitude.
Lang said the victimization of the girl began in Clayton County and the women ended up in Rockdale County at the Motel 6 and America's Best Value Inn, which are both located on Dogwood Drive. Lang said Archie and the victim knew each other.
The Conyers Police Department was notified of the allegations by a social worker on May 1 after the victim's mother took her to the emergency room at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. The victim told authorities that the suspects had drugged her with Coricidan and then taken her to different motels in Clayton County and Conyers where they pimped her to unknown adult males. The victim said she had been dropped off at her home at about 2:30 a.m. that day.
Lang said warrants were taken for the suspects on May 10. Archie reportedly turned herself in and was booked at the jail on June 3. Jackson was booked on May 28.
Lang said CPD turned the case over to the GBI because the agency has a Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit specializing in child sex trafficking cases.
