Broncos' Rinehart wins NJCAA baseball national title

Brookwood grad Zach Rinehart helped his Central Alabama Community College baseball to the National Junior College Athletic Association World Series championship on Sunday.

CACC won the NJCAA Division I title with a 7-3 victory over Palm Beach State (Fla.) in the annual showcase in Grand Junction, Colo.

Rinehart, a sophomore outfielder, hit .435 (10-for-23) in CACC's six World Series games. He had a double, two triples, five RBIs and was 2-for-2 on stolen bases. He was 1-for-3 and scored a run in the championship game.

For the season, he hit .327 with five home runs and 49 RBIs.
