LOGANVILLE Billy Archer Billy Donald Archer, 78, of Bold Springs, passed away on Wednesday, July 24th. He was born in the Harbins community of Gwinnett County on February 14th, 1935. He graduated from Dacula High School where he was a member of the basketball team all four years. He married Rose Marie Ewing in 1963, and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Billy worked for General Electric for 37 years. He loved working in his garden, driving his tractor, traveling with his wife and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. He was an active member in the Bold Springs United Methodist Church. Above all, Billy loved people, and never passed up an opportunity to make a new friend. Billy is survived by his wife, Rose Archer, and his four daughters Janet Greeson, Jean and Chris Gallman, Margaret and Kenneth Peters, and Nita and Mike Wheeler. He was a loving grandfather to his eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren: Amy, Anthony, Sadie and Maycee Stone; Todd Greeson, Sheena and Logan; Emily and Paul Russell, Captain Alex Gallman, U. S. Air Force, Ruthanne and Rosemary Peters, Dylan and Natalie Wheeler. He is also survived by three sisters Hazel Archer, Dorothy and Claude Bradberry, Jean and Richard Sikes, and his sister-in-laws Jackie Archer, Immogene Archer, and Annie Bob Archer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Lily Archer, and his ten older siblings. Visitation will be held at Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Loganville on Saturday, July 27th from 2-8pm. The funeral will be held at Bold Springs United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 28th at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Bold Springs UMC Building Fund.
