DULUTH — Do you think you have what it takes to become the next “American Idol?”
Your chance to prove your singing skills is today because there are “American Idol” auditions being held at the Arena at Gwinnett Center starting at 6 a.m.
Gwinnett is one of six locations to be selected to host auditions for Season 13 of the popular reality-singing television competition on Fox.
All contestants needed to register to audition. No walk-up contestants will be allowed to audition.
Once registered, the competitors are given a wristband and seating ticket, then asked to return the next day — and no one can camp overnight at the venue. Registration does not guarantee an opportunity to audition.
Last season, Suwanee resident and North Gwinnett High student Alexa Gilomen advanced to Hollywood on the show, while Collins Hill High graduate Matheus Fernandes was also a featured participant.
Snellville native Diana DeGarmo was runnerup on the show in 2004.
For more information, visit gwinnettcenter.com or americanidol.com. The next stop for auditions is in Boston on Aug. 2.
The Arena at Gwinnett Center is located at 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
