NORCROSS — With just two weeks remaining before school starts, Kroger is helping area teachers with school supplies.
At two locations on Thursday, the grocery chain is giving away more than $66,000 in classroom supplies. Teachers with a valid Georgia teacher ID can receive up to $40 each in free school supplies. The events are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the North Atlanta Trade Center at 1700 Jeurgens Ct. in Norcross, and at the Atlanta Civic Centerat 395 Piedmont Ave. NE in Atlanta.
This is part of Kroger’s “Earning Plus Learning” program that contributes $500,000 annually to elementary and middle schools.
“Kroger is committed to ensuring that our teachers have the tools they need to successfully educate our children,” said Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “We hope that through this event we can help assist teachers as they prepare for the upcoming school year.”
