LILBURN —Police in Lilburn are on the lookout for a man who was spooked by an alarm last week during an attempted burglary.

The incident happened at 8:24 p.m. on Friday at Cole’s Automotive at 4955 Lawrenceville Highway when a white man believed to be about 50-years-old got out of an older model small SUV, and tried to use a pry tool to force the door open, Lilburn Police Capt. Thomas Bardugon said.

That came after he looked inside the business, then returned to his car, a GMC or Chevrolet, put on a ball cap and gloves and grabbed the tool. Once the alarm sounded, he ran to the car and left the parking lot, Bardugon said.

Bardugon said the man had a slight pot belly, wore faded blue jeans, a grayish colored polo-type shirt and white tennis shoes. Video surveillance images captured the man before and after the incident, and his vehicle.
