Flatt runner-up at cadet national tourney

Mountain View wrestler Adam Flatt placed second at the ASICS cadet Greco-Roman national championship on Monday in Fargo, N.D.

Flatt was 7-2 in the tournament, including five pins. The rising junior lost to Minnesota's Mitchell McKee 8-0 in the championship match of the 113-pound bracket.

Flatt, who placed fifth at the Class AAAAAA state tournament last season, was one of six Georgia wrestlers to place in the tournament. Team Georgia finished seventh with 27 points. Illinois won the tournament with 86 points.

Norcross' Rudy Gillen was seventh at 132 pounds, going 6-2 in the tournament. Kennesaw Mountain's Roberto Rivera (182) was second, Rome's Elijah Kerr (160) was seventh and Carrollton's Taylor Lujan (152) was fourth and Jake Adcock (138) was fifth.

The tournament resumes this week with the freestyle tournament.
