Jeff Francoeur was called up by the San Francisco Giants on Saturday, making a quick return to the majors after being released by Kansas City on July 7.

"I'm rejuvenated", Francoeur told MLB.com. "It's a good time in my life."

Francoeur, who played in high school at Parkview and first played professionally with the Braves, started Sunday and went 1-for-4. He joined the team Saturday in San Diego, where Tim Lincecum threw a no-hitter against the Padres.

Francoeur hit .208 with three home runs and 13 RBIs in 183 at-bats with the Royals. In his four games with AAA Fresno, he went 4-for-18 (.222) with two RBIs. For his MLB career, he is hitting .264 with 140 home runs and 614 RBIs with the Braves, Mets, Rangers and Royals.

As well as the promotion, Francoeur and his wife, Catie, are expecting their first child Monday through induced labor, MLB.com reported.
