South's Ross to play for Utah Valley St.

WAYCROSS -- Former South Gwinnett basketball standout Chad Ross has signed a National Letter of Intent to play at Utah Valley State University in Orem, Utah, beginning this fall.

After transferring from Valdosta State last season, the 6-foot-8 forward averaged 12.2 points and 9.4 rebounds per game as redshirt sophomore at South Georgia State College in Waycross, and was named to the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association's All-Region team.

"I thank God for this opportunity, and I look forward to representing South Georgia State College and the Waycross community in Orem, Utah," Ross said in a statement released by SGSC.

Ross is one of 30 Swamp Fox players to sign with a four-year college or university program since 2009.
