LAWRENCEVILLE -- A Lawrenceville ophthalmologist was recently named a top doctor in Atlanta by a leading healthcare research company.
Dr. Jay Stallman of the Gwinnett office of Georgia Retina, a retina-only medical practice, was recognized in the July issue of Atlanta Magazine. The research company, Castle Connolly and the magazine compiled the list after nominations from a nationwide survey and peer nomination process of licensed doctors in DeKalb, Fulton, Cobb, Clayton and Gwinnett counties. The doctors were evaluated on educational and professional experience.
Stallman, a board-certified ophthalmologist, has been in private practice as a vitreo-retinal specialist since 1990. He graduated with highest honors from the combined six-year program of Boston University School of Medicine.
He had a residency in ophthalmology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, and a two-year fellowship in vitreo-retinal surgery at the Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans.
