All fireworks shows postponed tonight; some events still scheduled for 4th

Some cities have postponed their events for the Fourth of July because of expected rain over the next 48 hours. Here is an updated list as of Wednesday morning:

POSTPONED:

Norcross announced it will not have fireworks tonight, but the live music by Mother's Finest will go on as planned. There is currently no makeup date for the fireworks.

Lawrenceville's "Prelude to the Fourth" has been cancelled due to weather conditions. They do not plan to reschedule the event.


Lake Lanier Islands said its fireworks display has been postponed to Saturday night due to the weather.

Duluth announced today that its fireworks show along the Chattahoochee River has been cancelled. The fireworks will be rescheduled to follow the Duluth Fall Festival concert featuring Rupert's Orchestra on September 14th.

The Snellville Tourism and Trade Association announced late Tuesday that it postponed the annual Star Spangled Snellville event until Aug. 31. It will feature food, games, live music, fireworks and much more.

Sugar Hill postponed Sparks in the Park until August 3. The event will feature live entertainment, inflatable rides and fireworks.

Lilburn's "Sparkle in the Park" is postponed until Sept. 1. It'll feature live music, children's activities and fireworks.

Loganville officials announced today that the parade and July 4th festivities have been rescheduled for Saturday.

The parade will begin at 10:00 AM with the celebration following immediately at the Town Green.

THURSDAY, JULY 4 (Still scheduled as of Wed. afternoon):

Stone Mountain Park celebrates July 4-6 with its usual park festivities, plus the Lasershow Spectacular in Mountainvision and a patriotic fireworks show for the finale.

The Fourth of July in Braselton consists of a festival, annual parade through the city and fireworks to end the evening.

Mall of Georgia hosts its 11th annual Fabulous Fourth with raffles, live music, fireworks and the showing of "Playing For Keeps."
