ALBANY, Ga. — A 27-year-old man is in jail after police say he robbed two people of items at gunpoint including their Subway sandwich meal.
Cornelius Crawford, 27, is charged with two counts of theft by receiving stolen property after victims say he and a group of others who were armed with guns, jumped out of a tan Honda Accord as they were walking from Subway on Sylvester Road. The men are alleged to have taken the sandwich meal, two wallets and cigarettes and fled the scene.
Crawford was seen about 10 minutes later by police walking near the 300 block of South Mock Road. When confronted by police, officers noticed he had some of the stolen items on him, prompting his arrest.
Detectives say Crawford still had the sandwich, chips and drink on his person. Once recovered, the police attempted to return the meal to the victim, who declined, authorities say.
