G-Braves game against Norfolk rained out

NORFOLK, Va. — Heavy afternoon rain in the Tidewater area washed out the scheduled game between the Gwinnett Braves (37-49) and the Norfolk Tides (45-40) on Tuesday, at Harbor Park in Norfolk, Va.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on August 5 when the two teams are scheduled to begin another series in Norfolk. Both games will be seven-inning contests. The first pitch of Game 1 is set for 6:05 p.m.

The two clubs will conclude the current series on Wednesday at Harbor Park. Right-hander Joe Bisenius (2-0, 3.09) will start for Gwinnett, while Norfolk will start left-hander Jake Pettit (2-1, 3.75). Tony Schiavone will have the call on WDUN 550 AM and 102.9 FM. First pitch is set for 7:05 PM.
