Writer/director Martin McDonagh's sophomore effort doesn't quite match the same level of stinging wit and originality found in his debut ("In Bruges") but that doesn't prevent it from being a worthy entry into the Tarantino-inspired loopy crime thriller genre. Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, Tom Waits and Colin Farrell are among the title characters whose odd L.A. paths cross after a dog-napping goes awry. What McDonagh's screenplay may lack in plot is more than made up for with pointed gallows humor and rich character development.
