LAWRENCEVILLE — Gwinnett Police are searching for a suspect believed to be responsible for 21 car break-ins that began in October.
The suspect is a black man of average height and build, Gwinnett Police Cpl. Jake Smith said. He appears to be in his 30s or 40s, and has used an older model white pickup truck and four-door passenger car during the crimes. The suspect has targeted vehicles in parks and churches, and after a break-in then uses victims’ credit and debit cards to make purchases at several retail locations. The incidents have continued into January.
Smith released surveillance photos of the man leaving a Target store after one purchase with a victim’s stolen credit card.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or his vehicle should call GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-557-TIPS (8477).
