Chuck Scoggins of Hamilton Mill Golf Club received the first-ever Captain (Coach) of the Year Award from PGA of America Junior League Golf.
In the second year of the program, the Scoggins-led Georgia Team won the National Championship in 2011 and then finished second in 2012. The award was presented by Davis Love III to Scoggins at last week's annual PGA Show in Orlando. The Junior program at Hamilton Mill produced 96 victories on several local and regional junior tours in 2012, three high school individual region champions and had seven juniors receive scholarships to play at the collegiate level.
